Chasing Cars
Snow Patrol
Eyes Open
We’ll do it all
Everything
On our own
We don’t need
Anything
Or anyone
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
I don’t quite know
How to say
How I feel
Those three words
Are said too much
They’re not enough
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we’re told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that’s bursting into life
Let’s waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads
I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we’re told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that’s bursting into life
All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they’re all I can see
I don’t know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Initially, I do not like this song because I don’t listen to such music similar to what Snow Patrol is making. However, through the promotion over the radio, it stuck me emotionally.
One of my friends once asked me whether do I understand the lyrics or not, and what ‘Chasing Cars’ means to me. Seriously, I’ve no idea; words just cannot describe how I feel about the lyrics. At different occasions there are different meanings to the songs. Are all lyrics like this?
Is your life confusing? Are you running away from reality? Is your mind clear of where you are heading in your life? Are you lonely? Is life superficial?
“I don’t know where/ confused about how as well/ Just know that these things will never change for us at all”
Personally, life is always as confusing as your mind, running aimlessly, hiding yourself from problems and full of challenges. “Am I going to fight for it and live my life the way I wanted to?” This is what you should be questioning and be prepared for anything that will be coming into your life.
And, “Those three words are said too much”. It’s true, does anyone appreciate the feelings that are deeply inflicted?
